Bob was in HVAC sales management to the commercial construction industry and very succesful.

I was the best man in Bob's wedding. He married a girl named Gloria from West Virginia. It may have been the best decision Bob ever made. She was terrific. She developed Alzheimer's and Bob took care of her in their apartment in the Gateway Towers in downtown Pittsburgh until his death.

I think of Bob & Gloria often & fondly.

Bob and I went to Lincoln Grade School together and were, of course, classmates at Mellon and at the High School.  Bob was a great guy who I always enjoyed being around and we were the kings of softball, dodge ball and kickball during recess at Lincoln if memory serves me well.  We were also great admirers of Ms. Faieta (SP?), one of our gym teachers, but I suspect we were not alone in that regard.

I gave Bob a nickname in grade school that I'm sure he wasn't very pleased with as he grew older. I trust he forgave me after a while since he never brought it up, but that's the way Bob was.

I also took him home for lunch at my house on Parker Drive one day.  After my mother met Bob, she commented to me that Bob had beautiful eyes.  I didn't ask Bob to come home with me for lunch after that unnerving comment and tried to avoid making eye contact with him as well.

Beautiful eyes and lousy nickname aside, I miss Bob.

God bless.

Jay
